Fire Up the Grill: Blazin’ BBQ Chicken Wings

Fire Up the Grill: Blazin’ BBQ Chicken Wings

Some foods simply taste better outside.

These grilled chicken wings are crisp around the edges, juicy inside and coated in Pop 'N' Top Blazin’ BBQ seasoning. It delivers a hit of sweet, smoky flavour with just enough heat to keep things interesting.

Serve them straight from the grill with a cool BBQ dip and plenty of napkins.

Ingredients

For the Wings
  • 2 lb chicken wings, split
  • 1 tablespoon neutral cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon Pop 'N' Top Blazin’ BBQ seasoning
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons additional seasoning for finishing
  • Chopped green onion, optional
For the BBQ Dip
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons Pop 'N' Top Blazin’ BBQ seasoning
  • Squeeze of fresh lime juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, approximately 400°F.
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towel. Place them in a large bowl and toss with the oil and one tablespoon of Blazin’ BBQ seasoning.
  3. Arrange the wings over indirect heat. Close the lid and grill for approximately 20 to 25 minutes, turning every few minutes.
  4. Move the wings over direct heat for the final few minutes, turning frequently until the outside is crisp and lightly charred.
  5. Check the thickest wings with a digital thermometer. Chicken wings should reach an internal temperature of 74°C or 165°F.
  6. Transfer the cooked wings to a clean bowl and add another light shake of seasoning while they are still hot.
  7. Stir together the sour cream, mayonnaise, seasoning and lime juice to make the dip.
  8. Finish the wings with green onion and serve immediately.

Turn Up the Flavour

For even more variety, divide the grilled wings into two bowls. Toss one batch with Blazin’ BBQ and finish the other with Pop 'N' Top White Cheddar.

One grill. Two flavours. No boring wings.
